We had an amazing time at our chorus retreat this year at Camp Indianola. We worked hard solidfying the skills we already have and learning new ones and we even made time for fun!  Big thanks to our awesome coach, Judy Pozsgay!! Spokane, here we come!

Grab your quilt and pillow and sheet
Find comfy shoes for your hard-working feet
Bring something for dinner that you can eat
Pack your music, and something sweet

Meet your carpool down the street
Jam your suitcase in the back seat
This time of year just can't be beat,
It's A Joy's annual retreat!

Warm up your body with Kat's modern dance
Stretch and lunge in your black yoga pants
Warm up your voice with vowel-filled chants
and let your diphthongs fill the expanse.

We tell a story while we sing
With every breath, excitement we bring
Give our voices resonance and ring
and INTENSITY in everything!

Keep our vowel space big and tall
Don't ever let phrase endings fall
Make our sound a FREAKIN' wall!
Nikki's energy infects us all.

With Judy's wisdom we up our game
Delighting the audience is our aim
We sing as A joy, true to our name
and perhaps we'll earn some regional fame.

Sunday noon we all take flight
Load the risers, snug and tight
But no sad good-byes, it's all right,
Cuz' we'll be singing again on Monday night.
