Four quartets from a cappella Joy spread out across the Puget Sound region and made phone calls to more distant locales, spreading Valentine cheer far and wide.  The happy recipients enjoyed an unexpected song or two then went on with their day, perhaps with a catchy tune in their head and a fresh spark of joy in their heart.

AJoy had a great time singing on the Redmond Town Center stage during last weekend's Redmond Lights Festival.  The audience, the festive mood and the touch of chill in the air were all just right.  As a bonus, the announcer mentioned that it was his birthday, so of course we sang him the appropriate song in four part harmony!

Next up for our holiday performances are the Green Lake Pathway of Lights on Saturday Dec. 10, singing on stage at the Green Lake Community Center from 6:30 to 7:00, then on Saturday Dec. 17 a small group of AJoy singers will be roaming carolers at Molbak's Garden + Home from 11am to 1pm.  Come hear us sing!

We will be delivering valentines Friday, February 12 from 10 am to 4 pm, and Sunday Feb. 14 from 10 am to 8 pm. You can send a serenade to work, home or a restaurant in the Seattle and greater Eastside area. Along with a classic song or two we will deliver a rose and a personalized card.

Saturday evening members of a cappella Joy huddled happily under a tent on a rainy evening and sang for people passing along the Redmond Lights Festival luminary walk. Many people stopped to enjoy a song or three of our holiday repertoire, and we were pleased that so many folks braved the wet weather to enjoy the holiday festival. We sang for over two hours, repeating our song set many times, enjoying each and every performance for the ever changing audience.

For the third year running a cappella Joy chorus traveled all over the greater Seattle area and surprised lucky recipients with tributes of love, sung in four part harmony.  Five fabulous quartets made up of chorus members sang for spouses at home, partners at work, friends in care facilities, and even strangers in a coffee shop!  Many happy smiles, a few emotional tears, and thousands of lovely chords later, folks around Seattle felt a tiny bit more Joyful.
 
The chorus will be at it again in 2016, so you can start scheming now to amaze a loved one with a singing valentine from a cappella Joy!
